Difference between a Guru and Sudguru

Difference between a  Guru  and  Sudguru

The relationship of a Disciple with his Guru is a divine one  and nothing like it exists anywhere in the cosmos.  In this relationship, the Guru  unhesitatingly gives his spiritual wealth  to his disciple- a wealth gained by him after intense Tapasya. This wealth helps the disciple in cutting the ever binding circle of life   and death and achieve those aims, for which  one has taken birth.  It   is just like a father who unhesitatingly gives all that he has ,to his son. I am saying this in the Indian context   and tradition in which a father will do so- totally selflessly  and   without any consideration for his own future and needs. This is the holistic and the spiritual way of looking at the things. Of course , these days   the times are different   and there is so much of dross  and selfishness , that these divine qualities are lost to most.

The other  day I was watching Discovery channel. Normally I do not see the TV since, there is nothing much to be gained from doing so. To me it is just a waste of time. The same time needs to be used for doing something more useful and evolving. The clip was showing a small leopord  female   with  three cubs. A lioness saw them   and crept close to them.  The female Leopord did not run but faced the lioness  and even charged to make the lioness run away-even at the risk of getting itself killed. Parenting ,  wheter in humans or in   the animal world is a natural feeling- an exquisite feeling.

A Guru has the same feeling for a disciple  and wishes to give him all  the spiritual bounties provided the disciple is fit   and capable to take the same. But then the Guru has to have the capability of bestowing  the grace   and the disciple has to have   the capacity and purity of mind, heart   and the psyche to be able to assimilate   what the guru wishes to give-for there is a spiritual law governing this give and take. Unless the disciple has removed   the dross,  the Guru’s energy will just not seep in to him. Inner purification is a must along with the commitment  and intense desire to evolve spiritually.

But   then  the meaning of the word ‘Guru’, has to be unbderstood first of all. The word ‘Guru’ is  a Hindi word , composed of two separate words i.e. Gu+Ru, which means ‘Remover of darkness’- or the giver of knowledge. Lack of true knowledge is darkeness. Guru is a  misunderstood  and mostly misquoted term. Most   people think that once they have taken someone to be their ‘Guru’- all the hassles of life will  be miraculously   solved by   the Guru. Nothing can be far from  the truth.  We all have incarnated bound by the law of cause and effect  and have to pay back the Karma which we incurrd in past incarnations.  It is we  who have to pay the same, whether in this life or postpone it to the next one.  It will be unfair   and impractical to expect   the Guru  to take over  the same. It will never work out that way.

Why does one go to a Guru- It is to learn something form him. One  must be sure as to what  one wants  to learn from a Guru.  If I wish to learn about the tunig of my car-  the mechanic is my guru for that purpose. Likewise, if  one wants to learn  driving , the driving instructor is the Guru. When we talk of a spiritual Guru, it means   that we are keen to learn about the spiritual and evolving sciences. There are nth number of Gurus caliming   to have   the requisite knowledge to be a Guru. It is a difficult decision to select a Guru. In  my mind ,  there are four tests  with which one can decide as to who can be one’s Guru.  These are-

a)   The one going to whom  , you experience   and inner peace can be your Guru

b)   The one  who has 24 carat excellent Moral  character
c)    The one who does not desire anything from you
d)    If you sincerely practice what the `guru teaches you-just for three months , some results have to   come  by way of little experiences, inner peace etc  and such indicators   that you are on the right path

If none of this happens, then I am afraid , you will  be wasting yoru time with that indivisual for he can not be your Guru.  The Guru can guide   and mostly opeartae in the world of three dimensions. It means  that such teaching would be good enough for disciple’s presnt life only.

A  real spiritualist knows that we are livivng in a world of seven dimensions   and beyond. Unless the Subtle anatomy was cleansed, there can be no long term progress  which will enhance the Karmic account in after death stages- leave alone Emancipation. When one is looking  for this kind of knlwledge  and evolution, a Guru operating within the confines of three dimensions will not do any good-  for the subject matter is simply beyond him.  Most preachers , who just tell stories  to the gullible public can lead  you nowhere- here I am talking about serious ‘Spirituality’  and not   the momentry happiness and satiation of the external  mind.

Here you need a ‘Sudguru’. Ther is a big difference between  a Guru  and ‘Sudguru’.  A Sudguru is the one who has the following capabilities-

a)  He can operate across he subtle domains at will and has the capability of resolving   and cleansing the disciple’s  subtle bodies  for his faster evolution

b)  It is a relationship which spans across the river of time- many a life times, until such time   the disciple becomes an energy form- like a glass of water thrown in to the sea becomes   the sea itself

c)  He does not bind his Karma with anyone and has his independence- as also gives his disciple  the total independece. A  Sudguru does not treat the disciple  like a dog on   the leash

d)  His  grace is there for everyone  and each one who comes in contact wih him gets  the kind of energy which he can assimilate at his level

e)   He toils for hmanity selflessly and does not desire anything for himself from you. The only thing that he   desires is your growth  and spiritual welfare.

f)  He is beyond the realm of Maya. He treats the good the bad and   the ugly alike  and gets cheated nth number of time , again  and again – with full awareness of being so- just because he realizes  the latent spirituality in every human being  and knows   that all these deeds are due to ignorance  and someday the seeds of spirituality will frutify – in this or in the next incarnations.
e)  He is a Master who has seen the other side of life called ‘death by repeatedly going in to a state of Samadhi- a thing the wordly ‘Guru’  has no capacity to do.

Hence  be careful , when you go in the presence of a Realized master. If you wish to gain the grace of such a Sudguru-go to him with a clean heart-like a small child  and lay all your shortcomings at his divine feet  and be  totally bare, as  you are.

I have seen many a foolish people  who go to the Mahayogi, with a black heart  and intent to cheat. One feels , nothing but pity for such human beings. They are so far away from  what bounties  the Sudguru can give   them. Leave alone the Sudguru- even a lowly Master  Pranic healer is able to sense-  the quality of energy.  When you go to the feet of a Sudguru, go truthfully  and with a clean heart  and try to obtain his grace. If you become worthy , the grace will flow. Make no mistakes-one evil thought   and Sudguru can see your aura   and know about you- for he is one with  the cosmos.

It is a rare good fortune to find a Sudguru  and more important -to be accepted by
Him. When you find  the Sudguru, the path becomes crystal clear. If you prove worthy, the Sudguru will never leave you in this life as also after life.  The fear of death-which is only a transformation-will go away.  It is a privilage   and a pleasure
To sit at the feet of Sudguru- no words need to be spoken. It is total bliss.

Fortunate are those who are under the blessed gaze the of a ‘Sudguru’
